We’re excited to invite you to join us at St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge on Saturday, October 26, from 10 AM to 2 PM to celebrate the awe-inspiring migration of the monarch butterfly!
This annual festival offers a unique opportunity to watch the migrating monarch butterfly pass through the Wakulla County coast on their southern journey to Mexico. Visitors to the festival on Saturday will have the chance to witness the delicate process of tagging monarch butterflies at the St. Marks Lighthouse.
In addition to this unique experience, attendees can explore exhibits and demonstrations, learn about landscaping for butterflies and other pollinators, and enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities like interactive games, crafts, music, and food near the visitor center. The Nature Store will also be open from 10 AM to 5 PM, offering a great selection of monarch and nature-themed gifts.
Don’t forget to visit the Florida Wildlife Federation’s table to learn how we’re working to protect Florida’s pollinators, wildlife, and natural habitats. We’d love to chat about how you can get involved in conservation efforts right here in our state!
