Fund Ocklawaha Restoration

The Florida Legislature has approved $6.25 million in the 2025/26 state budget to begin restoring the Ocklawaha River by partially breaching the Rodman Dam. This funding won’t move forward unless Governor DeSantis approves it. Your message can help ensure this historic restoration effort becomes reality.

This restoration will help reunite the Great Florida Riverway to benefit four unique ecosystems: the St. Johns River, Silver Springs & River, Ocklawaha River, and the Atlantic Ocean.  Restoration funding will also support: 

  • Improving recreational fishing opportunity by expanding fish habitat and migration
  • Connecting habitat within the Florida Wildlife Corridor 
  • Restoring Florida’s unique and cherished springs
  • Expanding recreational opportunities
  • Increasing tourism revenue
  • Providing manatee habitat
  • Recognizing the uniqueness of the resource.
