We’re excited to invite you to join the upcoming “Gardening for Wildlife in Florida” course, part of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at the University of South Florida. Taught by FWF’s Education and Outreach Coordinator Marney Richards, this session will take place on Thursday, April 11, starting at 10:30 AM at Brookdale Bayshore in Tampa.
As Florida continues to grow, gardens—whether large landscapes or small patios—can serve as vital habitat for native plants and wildlife. In this engaging introductory course, Marney Richards will explore the role of native gardening in supporting Florida’s ecosystems. Learn how urban gardens benefit pollinators and wildlife, discover which plants attract birds, butterflies, and other key species, and get tips for selecting easy-to-grow natives suited to your region. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just getting started, you’ll leave with practical ideas to create a beautiful, wildlife-friendly garden.
