Description
I have been photographing Great Egrets for several years now and I have never seen something quite like this. I was at the Sebastian Inlet photographing wading birds when I saw this egret preening itself. I turned my camera to it for some clean preening shots and out of nowhere it opened its mouth stuck its tongue out and then suddenly let out this sneeze. Working backlight allowed me to capture the water drops projected all around this bird. As soon as I looked at the preview in the back of my camera the only two words out of my mouth were “Bless you!”
