Description

A young Ibis. Ibis are very common wetland birds abundantly found throughout Florida. The striking salt and pepper looking head and neck of the young Ibis will eventually turn to all Snow White. The bluish colored iris stand out vividly against the orangish colored beaks. The long curved beaks make them especially good at digging in the soft muddy shorelines for small insects and crustaceans.
