Description
Osprey dining on a fresh catch from Lake Apopka. Often referred to as the fish- hawk they are incredibly powerful raptors and have a unique way of carrying their prey in the air. They turn the fish in their talons such that the head of the fish is pointed in the direction they are flying to reduce wind drag. This particular osprey had caught a fish close to 4 lbs in size. It was able to land with one foot while still holding on to its meal with the other.
