The Florida Wildlife Federation (FWF) aims to foster a safe, positive, and welcoming online community. Our social media platforms serve as spaces for meaningful conversations about wildlife conservation, outdoor recreation, and environmental issues. To maintain a respectful and constructive atmosphere, we’ve established the following community guidelines.

1. Be Respectful and Kind
We encourage healthy debate and thoughtful discussion. If you spot false or misleading content, share accurate information or reliable sources to clarify the situation. We recognize that discussions around conservation and environmental issues can involve differing opinions. We encourage respectful, evidence-based dialogue and will moderate posts or comments to ensure comments remain respectful.
- Personal attacks, harassment, or threats are not tolerated.
- Trolling, baiting others into arguments, or attempting to disrupt discussions is prohibited.
- Discrimination or hate speech, including but not limited to racism, sexism, homophobia, or ableism, is strictly prohibited.
- Report hate speech or racism directly to FWF using platform tools or by emailing info@floridawildlifefederation.org for appropriate action.
2. Stay On Topic
Keep discussions relevant to the original post to encourage constructive conversations.
- Off-topic comments or posts that derail discussions may be removed.
- Spamming, excessive posting, or linking to unrelated third-party content is prohibited.
- Automated or bot-generated comments will be removed.
- Advertising or promoting products, services, or organizations without prior approval from FWF is not allowed.
3. Share Accurate Information
We prioritize truthful and well-sourced content.
- Content that spreads false or misleading information, whether intentional or unintentional, will be removed.
- Verify the accuracy of your content before posting.
- AI-generated content must be clearly disclosed and meet the same standards as human-generated posts.
- Content suggesting or implying FWF endorsement of a political candidate or party is prohibited, in compliance with our 501(c)(3) status.
4. No Explicit or Graphic Content
- Vulgar language, sexually explicit material, or graphic depictions of violence are strictly prohibited.
- Content that promotes cruelty or illegal activities involving wildlife will be removed.
- Respect ethical hunting and fishing practices and avoid depictions of abuse or disturbance to wildlife.
5. Zero Tolerance for Hate or Intolerance
FWF has zero tolerance for promoting hatred, racism, or intolerance toward any individual or group. Violators may be immediately removed or banned from FWF platforms without prior notice.
6. Respect Privacy and Personal Information
- Do not share personal contact details or private information about yourself or others.
- Any content revealing sensitive information will be removed to protect privacy.
7. Respect Moderators and Staff
Our moderators and staff work to maintain a positive environment for everyone. Abusive or disrespectful language toward them will not be tolerated and may result in removal or banning.
8. Addressing Violations
Our moderators and staff monitor comments and posts regularly, but we appreciate your help in maintaining a constructive environment.
- Use platform-specific reporting tools or contact us at info@floridawildlifefederation.org to report inappropriate behavior or content.
- Depending on the severity of the violation, users may receive a warning or face an immediate ban. Repeat offenders may be permanently banned.
These guidelines are subject to change to address evolving needs and feedback.
