December 2017

To protect our coastal waters, we need a constitutional prohibition on oil and gas drilling and its associated industrial infrastructure. Remember that in 2009, shortly before the Deep Water Horizon disaster, the Florida House passed a bill to open Florida's marine waters to oil and gas drilling. This is not an idle threat.  If we had a disastrous spill in Florida waters, our beaches and wildlife would immediately be in peril. The absolute last thing we need in Florida is oil-soaked marshes, bays, mangroves, seagrasses, coral reefs, and beaches.
