Mark your calendars! Give Miami Day is coming up on Thursday, November 21, 2024 offering a great opportunity to support the Florida Wildlife Federation’s ongoing efforts to protect our state’s natural treasures.

Give Miami Day is a 24-hour online giving event held every November, where people can donate to support local nonprofits making a positive impact in the Greater Miami area. Organized by The Miami Foundation, it’s one of the largest annual fundraising events in the U.S., bringing together donors and community organizations.

Your donation on Give Miami Day will help us continue our mission to safeguard Florida’s diminishing water, wildlife, and wild spaces. Recently, Florida’s state parks faced a significant threat from development proposals that included golf courses, hotels, and pickleball courts—potentially impacting cherished sites like Oleta River State Park in Miami-Dade County. Thanks to the support of our dedicated community, we were able to save these parks from development, ensuring that they remain natural havens for wildlife and outdoor recreation (for now).

But the work isn’t over. Inaction today means irreversible loss tomorrow, and we need your help to keep up the fight. By donating to the Florida Wildlife Federation on Give Miami Day, you’ll enable us to protect more of Florida’s parks, wildlife habitats, and waterways.

On Give Miami Day, your contributions made during this event may be boosted through bonus gifts and matching funds, making your support go even further! Help us reach our goal of $5,000 this year and make an even bigger impact for Florida’s wildlife and natural resources.
