The Leon County Circuit Court has entered a Final Judgment in the Amendment 1 case and the Florida Wildlife Federation and its allies have prevailed!

Judge Charles Dodson has ruled that the Legislature has misspent millions of dollars that should have gone to land conservation programs, such as Florida Forever. Per Judge Dodson, the meaning of Amendment 1, the Water and Land Legacy Amendment, passed by 75% of Florida voters in 2014, is clear and monies in the Land Acquisition Trust Fund should be use for just that: land acquisition. “This win is a victory not only for conservation of our remaining natural resources, but for the citizens of Florida” said Manley Fuller, Florida Wildlife Federation’s President.

Undoubtedly, the Legislature will appeal this important decision, and FWF will fight it all the way to the Supreme Court. The will of the voters must be followed by our elected politicians.

We thank everyone who has donated to this most worthy cause! Please consider helping us as we continue this battle!
